Flo’s Diner in Chalfant Valley held their One Year Anniversary Grand Opening and Car Show on Saturday, October 16, 2021. Flo’s Diner opened their doors to the public on September 20, 2020 in the midst of the Covid pandemic and was not able to hold a grand opening due to the mandate banning public gatherings.
The celebration was a huge success with over 30 classic cars participating in the car show and a large number of people stopping by to partake in the event. Food, beer, and wine specials were available to be enjoyed inside or outside on the patio where the Bill Planchon and Friends band played all afternoon.-Bishop Chamber of Commerce staff and members held a ribbon cutting for Flo’s Diner in the afternoon before the award presentation.
Six trophies were awarded to six lucky car owners. Ralph Buscemi with his 1962 Chevy Corvair took home the trophy for Best Vehicle Under Construction; Robert Dowers showed his 1969 Chevy Truck and took home the trophy for Best Interior; Jason Herbst and his 1956 Ford Thunderbird won the trophy for Best Paint; Bob Butcher and his 1957 Chevy Belair was awarded the trophy for Best Engine by the Chalfant Valley Fire Department; Mary & Dean Walters won the trophy for The One That Makes You Smile with their 1952 Dodge Wagon; and the Best of Show trophy was taken home by Craig Overton with his 1959 Chevy Corvette.
